Rebekah Tyler is a fellow Kiwi who had a big dream and then set out to achieve it.

She did this because she has a big heart, a generosity of spirit and a can do attitude, and she backed it up with an incredibly effective crowdfunding plan, which led to exceeding her goal of $10,000 just half way into her Kickstarter campaign.

I can’t explain it better than the beautifully put together video she launched with her campaign that really gets the message across at what she set out to achieve. It’s also funny, which always helps.

The story goes like this: Rebecca Tyler had sent off her book proposal for `Full Tilt’ to quite a few London and New York agents and got lots of rejection letters.

Rather than take it personally she was determined that nothing was going to stop her and she just had to find a different way to publish her book

“I basically came across Kickstarter when I was just looking at the computer one day. And I thought, “Wow! This is a fantastic idea.”

And so it was, as just two weeks later she had blown her $10,000 fundraising goal out of the water and her vision to self publish her book became a reality.

In this podcast episode, we talk all about the nuts and bolts of her successful Kickstarter campaign and how you can emulate her tactics to make yours successful too.

In this interview you’ll learn:

  • Her three main strategies for marketing (one you’ll be really surprised by!)
  • What one decision that every self-published author should make if they want to be professional
  • How she chose her goal based on the realistic costs of publishing and traveling
  • Story behind how she crafted her unique perks and what difference that has made for her campaign
  •  How long her super effective video took to create and her mindset about the investment
  • Where her love of traveling comes from and how that plays out with having two kids
