When I launch any product or program I’ve put my heart and soul into, I am always anxious as to whether I have really built something that will make a difference in your life.
I’m sure you know how that feels. You put in all this effort and research to come up with a solution to solve peoples’ most pressing problems, and then it’s crunch time.
Did you do enough? Did you deliver what your community was asking for? And did you align with your business mission?
For me, my mission is plain and simple – Create freedom in business and adventure in life for women entrepreneurs. I do this by showing you creative ways to run your business from anywhere using online tools, social media and outsourcing – and a big dose of motivation and coaching.
So when I launched my biggest venture yet – The Passport to Business Freedom Program on January 1st 2011, I was naturally hugely excited and also a teensy bit nervous.
Over 25 women invested in my program believing that I had created something that would indeed live up to this big claim:
Attain the business freedom you crave so you can make the impact on the world that you most desire!
This is what I really wanted these women to achieve. To realize that their time, talents, paying themselves what they’re worth and having their ideal lifestyle was the most important thing.
And that struggling in a business with little profit and insane work hours with a business model that likely wasn’t scalable was not a business – but a job.
Don’t get me wrong, many of the women who signed up were successful business women who were now looking for that next burst of energy, insight, strategy and a fresh perspective on their existing business model.
Others had long held an idea for a business and were finally prepared to take that plunge and commit to it by working through a business plan, creating a mission and vision with purpose, finding the right business model and establishing their own unique brand.
The diversity was amazing – health and wellness specialists, consultants, marketing specialists, pharmaceutical clinicians, online retailers of organic skincare and even corsets. Plus those women working in communications, design, writing and coaching.
The one thing these talented women had in common was a desire for change. I was particularly impressed at the level of progress and breakthrough achieved by several of the Passport Members. So much so that I asked a couple of them to give me their feedback in an effort to show you the power of this program – if you commit to working on yourself and your business through the 8 weeks.
Introducing Barbara Maher, The Spirit of Women
Last year I decided to follow my dream! I have been fortunate in the last few years to work with many dynamic women on a myriad of projects. One of the key insights that I made during this time was that there are many women who do not recognize or give themselves credit for their abilities.
I embarked on a plan to work with women to create a ‘movement’ and establish a foundation to help empower women of all ages to ‘step out of the shadows’ and go for their dreams.
To achieve my dream, I realized that to reach women the mode of communication had to be an online effort; that is where I faced my challenges. I made the initial start to this dream with a website and then stopped! I lacked clarity; direction and basic know how and walked away for short while.
Over the Christmas season I was web surfing and searching for inspiration and anything to do with women, business and entrepreneurs and found the “Passport to Business Freedom” program. I read the outline, the timeline and the commitment and felt that I was being offered all the things I had been asking for: so I registered. I have never regretted it for a moment.
I have to congratulate Natalie Sisson and all the facilitators for their contributions. I especially liked that each week we were presented a video interview so we could engage in their ideas and concepts. We were also provided a transcript of the video so we could read over what was had been discussed and finally the workbook to put into practice. Great teaching method (see, hear and touch) utilizing all these senses for best retention.
I learned something new each week. I did have a concern after week 2 about being able to accomplish the assignments BUT soon realized that it was my tendency to be a perfectionist and thinking each area was to be completed. In reality each module supports and works with the other modules. I recommend taking baby steps, and sometimes backtracking and tweaking practices will give you the confidence to take big and daring steps sooner than you think.
The eight weeks passed quickly, and I feel that I have learned so much! I feel strongly that I have gained clarity as to the direction that I need and want to take and am less intimidated in my venture. I know that there is help if I need it and hope that the few connections I have made will continue. Finally, the enthusiasm of the facilitators truly speaks to The Spirit of Women!
Introducing Cadi Jordan, Primary Consultant, Jordan Consulting
I joined the Passport to Business Freedom as I saw that there were many key components that I was already working on in with my current business that were packaged into this 8 week online program.
I already had been following Natalie and Elena Verlee and was pleased with all the treasures I’d learned from them, that I just thought I had nothing to lose in signing up for the whole program. I was looking to streamline my Business and keep FOCUS! The 8 week course was just that!
It didn’t allow me to keep jumping from one thought to another but to begin by going back and looking at my business plan and then moving forward from there step by step.
I made the most progress on being able to outsource key areas of my business and then begin to clearly schedule my time to make sure that I had more of it. I feel great about the program overall and know that the materials are things that I can look back on.
Not to mention all the Amazing Women included as the coaches in the program. I follow them on Twitter, Facebook & their blogs and thoroughly enjoy what they are sharing and continue to glean tidbits of knowledge to make me think.
Can you get your passport stamped too?
Most certainly. When I first launched it in January I had many women email to ask if I would be holding this again, and now they’re signed up for the March 1st launch.
