If you’re one of those women who have always felt that there are better alternatives to using disposable pads and tampons when you get your period (sorry guys – but read on as this is totally business related) then you should look no further than Lunapads who offer fantastic alternatives. Oh and you should definitely watch this video!

Madeleine Shaw and Suzanne Siemens, co-founders, Lunapads.com

Thanks to Madeleine Shaw and Suzanne Siemens, who recently celebrated 10+ years in business together as co-founders of Lunapads International, a Vancouver BC based manufacturer and e-tailer of natural feminine hygiene products, thousands of women worldwide feel better about their periods!

What’s more they were recently named one of the top 20 most innovative companies in the province of British Columbia, Canada!

Lunapads were originally created in 1993 by Madeleine in response to personal heath concerns around tampons, which she developed alongside her fashion design business.

She met Suzanne, a Chartered Accountant, in 1999. Realizing that they shared a common vision of better health for women and the planet, they joined forces to bring Lunapads to a global community of women.

In addition to their work at Lunapads, they are active in local groups supporting women entrepreneurs, green business and environmental causes. The company is also well-known for its in-house social profit enterprise,Pads4Girls, which supports education for girls in developing nations through donations of its products.

I thought an interview with two fantastic, successful women entrepreneurs was long overdue, and couldn’t think of anyone better to spark off a new series.

In the video below they answer the following 7 questions in 7 minutes and you don’t want to miss their answers:

1. What do you love most about being an entrepreneur?
2. Can you describe the most valuable lesson you’ve learned in 10 years of business?
3. What has been the success to LunaPads continued success?
4. How are you embracing and integrating social media into your business?
5. What is one tangible result you’ve witnessed due to social media?
6. How do you incorporate online tools to help streamline your business?
7. What’s the one piece of advice you’d like to give to fellow entrepreneurs?
