The Internet – it’s vital to any digital nomad and location independent entrepreneur’s life and business.

Without it, you’re nothing ….or at least it can seem that black and white at times, especially those times when you lose the Internet completely.

Like I did, right when I was on the most important part of my LIVE training webinar with 100+ people from all around the world, listening in intently to me explain the 3 Stages I’ve used to build my perfect lifestyle business.

And then it happened……I sensed something was wrong. I finished my presentation and checked back in with everyone (like I had been doing regularly throughout).

It was then that I saw what no online entrepreneur ever wants to see when they’re hosting a live event of any kind:

“You’ve lost audio. Check your connection”.

And so I did. And that was the time I realized there was NO Internet!

This experienced digital nomad, who’s run her business from her laptop and an internet connection for 5 years, in 69 countries, forgot to plugin the wifi router.

So it had run out of battery, turned off and in doing so, simply stopped my Internet connection.

And here I was with a webinar connection that just ended my event, and no way to connect with all the people on there who’d been interacting with me and keen to ask questions.

Nothing. Just silence. Shit!

How to avoid losing the Internet and therefore your credibility and customers

It was somewhat ironic that earlier in the webinar someone had asked a question “Do you run your webinars by yourself and handle the tech side too”.

I happily answered:

“I sure do. I’ve done so many webinars and feel comfortable managing the tech side, the presentation and the live aspect of it. And if I have tech troubles, which you inevitably always do, I just hope that people are understanding of this and forgiving as you can’t always control what happens”.

Famous last words.  Cos then it bit me in the butt!

Mind you what I said was true, it’s never THAT big a deal. You can find a solution. And I did. I rerecorded (twice due to a microphone issue) the last 15 minutes and sent out the recording.

And at some point you’ll face this situation, if you haven’t already, when you let your clients down, when you can’t find reliable Internet, and when things don’t go according to plan.
