Do you catch yourself saying `I’m not good enough’ or `This will never work’ or `Why does this always happen to me’ on a daily basis?
I have one thing to say to you then…`Stop it. Stop right now and replace those negative thoughts with the kind of positive thoughts that compel you to take action to get the life you really want’.
You are not defined by your past choices.
What stands between you and achieving more in life is your mindset. You are what you think. So if you constantly think you’re a failure or a screw-up, then guess what – that’s what you’ll be.
But if you choose to control your mind and the thoughts you think each day, and you focus those thoughts on opportunities, why you’re brilliant, capable and deserving of success, then you’re on your way to opening the magical envelope – kind of like `the money or the bag’ game show.
The one that Andrew Carnegie refers to, that you were given at birth. The envelope of wealth and riches as opposed to the one of fears and insecurities.
Episode Five: Your Future Success Is Not Defined By Your Past
Today I am going to be like a less `juiced up’ but still just as passionate Anthony Robbins. Yes this is very much for those of you who love personal development and need some inspiration and mindset coaching.
I thought it was totally appropriate as this week we’re on location in Berlin, Germany’s capital city with one of the most fascinating histories for a relatively young (800 years) history.
What this city has accomplished despite it’s tragic past is beyond miraculous. From the Prussian Empire in the 1800s to the Golden Era of the 1920 and 1930s when Berlin was THE place to be, to World War II and a city devastated and torn in two for over 30 years with the Berlin Wall.
Berlin is a dynamic city in constant change and as a result, elegant boulevards alternate with trendy and alternative neighbourhoods. The futuristic architecture in the government district and at the Potsdamer Platz in Berlin-Mitte contrasts to the Wilhelminian style in Charlottenburg.
It has a thriving Startup hub and is ridiculously affordable for a capital city. You can get almost anywhere on trains, trams and buses, and this city is so vast, every one of the 12 districts has it’s own unique charm.
Berlin is currently one of the most `free’ cities I’ve visited too – like it’s almost disjoint from `typical Germany’. Alive with culture and history, an underground music scene like no other, and an abundance of artists and unemployed who make the very most of what this city has to offer.
This is because Berlin chose to move on from it’s history and reinvent itself. In my mind, it’s the perfect example of how the past does NOT have to effect your future.
Every single moment, you can choose whether you want to own your future, and exactly how your life can look, it all starts with mastering the only thing that is within your control, the thoughts in your mind.

2. Write down 5 reasons you’re grateful
Under this statement, write down 5 things you are grateful for. Do this every day for the next 5 days after reading your statement. You will be truly amazed at the results in your mental shift from fear and negativity, to happiness and possibility.
