Top 20 Biz Women To Follow On Twitter – Round 2
Posted on 26. Sep, 2010 by Natalie in Entrepreneurs, Social Media
Late July I decided to honour some top ladies doing excellent work on Twitter and in the business world that I personally followed and engaged with.
For some fantastic reason you loved it. I loved it. The world loved it…ok well maybe that’s a tad over the top.
I hadn’t thought about the `repercussions’ of doing such a shout out. Almost all these fabulous women contacted me personally to say a big thanks (especially as I featured it on Forbes).
From this fortuitous yet unassuming move to write that post, I’m grateful for the many new friendships that were born from it. I was also excited at the recommendations many of you provided so some of these are included below.
Here I present 20 more awesome women to follow on Twitter for business, entrepreneurship and beyond.
Enjoy and please share and add your own to the list in the comments section. I intend to produce these every two months and there are so many more amazing women to profile!
Btw to make it super easy for you I’ve made a Twitter list (see image below) that you can just follow, it includes the last 20 too! Just follow it here.

@EntMagazineAmy is Amy Cosper, the Editor-in-Chief at Entrepreneur magazine and a lady after my own heart who loves Ducatis. That in my mind is one cool chick. Need I say more? She’s also really personable and engaging on Twitter with a good mix of fun and business.
@connectedwomen is run by the passionate Icelandic entrepreneur Runa Magnusdottir. It’s a great platform for women entrepreneurs worldwide to be seen, heard, promoted and empowered and she’s built a great international community of women entrepreneurs. I read Kelly’s RT of this post and came right over. One of the ways twitter is useful for me is via the insight I gain from thoughtful tweets by interesting and productive members many of whom I find on resourceful lists like these. Thanks for putting this together.

I’m honored to know some of these women and while you raise the point that it’s impossible to create a comprehensive list I think you’ve done a great job picking some wonderful women – especially because you’ve raised quite a few to my attention of whom I’ve never heard and now intend to seek them out!
Thanks for broadening the scope of broads

@acavoulacos well you would as a cofounder and all
I’d like to know more about the name you’ve given the site, do you believe that younger women want to focus on being feminine and being business like too? Let me know more

@NatalieSisson It’s an interesting debate, we we’ve certainly had one. We’ve had a positive response from the majority of people visiting our site – many of which are young professional women who want to be able to be seen as professional without having to erase the feminine aspect of their identity. Others were more opposed – some of which have changed their minds after hearing the rationale behind the site, some of which have not.
If you’re interested, you can find out more about the debate in our article “The Problem with Pretty”:

@acavoulacos I thought there’d be some debate and the comments on that post are interesting for sure. I’m whole heartedly pro women in business also being feminine and embracing that. In fact it’s been proven that women have many characteristics that make them more successful that are inherently feminine. I like that you’ve discussed it on your site, I’d be inclined to have it under the about us – a `what’s behind our name’ page too. Congrats on starting your site and I’m sure you will be a huge benefit to many young women!

Great list! I would add Bex Mitchell (my wife and business partner), @socialbex, of Social Butterfly Marketing. She started Social Butterfly in her dining room and now flies across the country to meet with potential clients.
Also, our business model wouldn’t work if it wasn’t for all of the “mom-trepreneurs” who make up our workforce, our Social Butterflies.
