Why Billionaire Donald Trump’s Secret To Success Is Not A Secret

When I actually make time for it, I like to read or watch videos of entrepreneurs’ success stories from around the world.
It’s fairly obvious to me why this is a habit we should all form, but just in case you don’t see it for yourself, here’s why:
One it inspires you to keep on going when the going gets tough. These entrepreneurs are living proof of what is possible. They can be your morning pep up. Your kick-starter to the day, for free!
Two it shows you that all your fears, your doubts and your concerns are entirely common. These superachievers have had them too. What’s more they’ve shaken them off and gone on to be crazy successful.
Three it gives you the opportunity to look at how they approached a situation that you can learn from. I mean you always want to learn from the best. Those that have been there, done that right?
So where do you find such fantastic stories?
Well hopefully I provide some right here on WomanzWorld with the interviews of awesome ladies. Also watch out for my tweets as I read a variety of sources – blogs, websites, and magazines to bring you the insight, intelligence and inspiration you need.
Examples of great places to head to are TED – I think I’ve harped on about this before but really if you’re not watching a TED video once a week from an inspired speaker then you’re missing out.
Search under business and entrepreneurship to see all the greats speaking, select your poison and get amped up over your morning coffee or tea!
Success Magazine is another great source and a myriad of blogs like Toilet Paper Entrepreneur, Under 30 CEO, Entrepreneur.com and Oprah!
Just today I stumbled across founding editor of Success Magazine, Darren Hardy’s interview with Donald Trump. In one short blog post he summed up more about Donald Trump then Donald’s book did (not a book I’d recommend to be honest).
In interviewing Donald Trump he found the following to be the key formula to making billions:
1. Love what you do
2. Work hard.
3. Don’t listen to other people’s opinion of you.
4. Keep working hard even when you don’t want to.
5. Love and care for your people.
6. Never, never, never ever give up.
“Simple isn’t it?” Darren says.
It certainly seems it. But is it really? Obviously not otherwise we’d all be rip roaring overachievers jetting around on your private jets and multi-million dollar launches.
It is possible? Most definitely. Anything’s possible.
I did a little self analysis. Although No. 1 & 2 are a given for me – I love what I do without a doubt, there’s a fine line between working hard and working smart. I tend to walk that line a little too often.
No. 3 I think I find more difficult, I value peoples’ opinions and want them to think the best of me. It used to upset me, even back in school, if one girl didn’t appear to like me, or had a different view of who I was.
This carries on into the business world, although you grow a thicker skin, it’s never going to be easy to face rejection in any form or have someone criticize your work. But it’s something that is critical. You can care, but you shouldn’t let it affect you going after your vision and achieving it.
Too many people can point out your flaws, the fault in your business plan, or the errors you made in your marketing strategy or sales pitch. But are they out there doing it themselves?
Likely not. So why listen to them if they haven’t `been there, done that’, and been a remarkable success.
Mentors and advisors who have that wisdom are the people you really want to surround yourself with. They know what they’re talking about and want to see you do your best stuff.
If I look at a common trait CEOs I’ve had the pleasure of knowing all have, it’s a stubbornness to follow their path, to set out to paint that bigger picture. They’re not sidetracked by someone thinking it’s a risky idea. If they were nothing great would ever be built.
Sure we all screw up. But small incremental failures along the way lead to big wins down the track, when you put into place all that you’ve learned.
What I really liked that Darren went on to say is this:
The difference between you and The Donald is actually DOING the above principles—relentlessly, passionately and consistently.
That, my friends, is the true secret, that’s the mystery solved. If you really want it, I mean really, really want it, you CAN have it all. The question is what are you prepared to give up to do so?

I really like the first point – “love what you do” because our success just for the sake of success might not be worth the efforts later.
When I was in IT field, I was good, but I always knew that it was totally wrong for me. It does not matter how successful I could be, I would never be happy with that anyways.
Self-Made

First love the summary, Darren Hardy is brilliant and as well, a self-made entrepreneur. Trump has a way of stating the obvious of what people want to hear (Politician). Most self-made types are already well in touch with the insights purported by Trump. More importantly, I think the greater message that was not realized is “Mindset” – not so much on the “Work Hard” as everyone works hard. Trump is certainly not the most handsome, not the most successful in business or personal life, laughed at by the Wall Street set, nor even a true billionaire, but he acts “As If” because he believes in thinking big. Having the right “Mindset” will get one further than any of the mentioned keys to success. Everything begins with a thought.

Trump is absolutely right with not listening to the opinions of others. Words are definitely posion and if you allow others opinions to bother you, you will never succeed. You have to accept that you can’t please everyone.
