Ready. Get Set. Go

Whooooaaahhh there. Not so fast. I know you’re raring to go but there’s one thing you need to know before you start an online business.

Call it what you want – a lifestyle business, internet marketing, location independent lifestyle, Suitcase Entrepreneur Adventure. Whatever it is that rocks your boat and gets you fired up to get those ideas out in the market place and committing to building your biz, or an aspect of it, online – there’s one thing you need to know.

The Secret Ingredient To Building An Online

You might have heard me talk about this a lot before, especially if you joined the Suitcase Entrepreneur Movement some time back. The key thing to all of this, according to me, is:

Developing the ‘freedom in business and adventure in life’ mindset.

I think the critical piece and the secret to running an online business from your own home or while on
the move is all about mindset. A lot of people are so used to working 9:00 to 5:00 or typical hours from
an office, or perhaps from their home and they become bound by this imaginary structure.

You need to develop the mindset that you actually can run your business from anywhere, at any time and within any timezone thanks to online tools and technology.

And that requires a certain mindset of thinking more from a freedom-based perspective and also from an experiences-based perspective. And what I mean by that is if you’re one of those people who just can’t let go of your amazing shoe collection, fancy car, or big house and mortgage, then you can certainly build an online business, but you won’t have one based on a location independent lifestyle.

And in case I missed something here that’s really what you’re after right? It’s why you’re on this blog and why there are so many people writing about and more importantly living this life. It’s what many people talk about and few people actually do.

For you to be a virtual evolutionary entrepreneur you need to be flexible, open-minded and mobile. I’m not expecting people to give up everything but you can make your business very nimble and very quick without weighing it down, and you can have that mindset of ‘You know what, I can go anywhere at the drop of a hat if I need to, if I need to travel, if I need to be on plane, if I need to move country, if I need to move time zones.’

So first of all develop the mindset that you can, that your business is truly mobile and the next step is actually making it happen and foregoing some of these creature comforts, or getting stuck in your local area, or in the routines that you’ve always had, and starting to adapt to having better systems in place that allow you to create more freedom over time.

That’s the key lesson for today. Adopt an adventure based attitude!
